Ecological tourism

ecological tourism

Due to the increasing ecological awareness of people around the globe as a reaction to numerous factors that destructively affect the earth’s ecological system (pollution of seas, rivers and lakes with chemicals by industrial wastes, greenhouse effect destroying the earth’s glaciers, air pollution by exhausts from motor vehicles, aerosols and industrial discharge of gases etc.) more and more people choose to go on ecological tours that are offered by more and more travel agencies globally.

Cautious attitude towards the nature and the environment becomes one of the attractive elements of tourism and travels. Tourist hotels, camping sites, resorts that are located in the middle of pristine environment and where much attention is paid to ecological issues, preservation of the natural landscape and cultural heritage are becoming more and more popular and attract new tourists that are ecologically aware and have necessary knowledge of the issue.

We know that tourism affects the environment in different ways. The tourism industry exploits natural, cultural and historical resources of a country, requires ownership of land, produces wastes and harms air, water and the soil. Transport used for travelling burns irreplaceable types of fuel and pollutes the environment. That’s why popularization of ecological tourism is crucial for more careful attitude of travelers to the nature and more rational use of such resources. We must protect the environment from its purely commercial use.
